Straight answers.
Everything people ask before they sign up — about accounts, environments, verification, pricing, certificates and colleges.
Before you sign up
Do I need my own AWS account or a credit card?
No. Cloud labs and playgrounds run in accounts DeployU provisions, and we cover the cloud costs. You never enter card details to run a lab.
Are the environments real?
Yes. Playgrounds open real AWS accounts and real containers. Course labs run a VS Code IDE with a terminal in your browser; projects run on a live dev server. A few cost-heavy labs use LocalStack to emulate AWS — the lab says so when it does.
How is my work verified?
Each task has an automatic check against what you built — a running container, a deployed resource, a passing test. For placement problems, only code that passes the hidden tests counts as solved.
What does it cost?
Creating an account is free. Running labs and playgrounds needs a yearly plan — from $240 a year. Students at partner colleges get access through their college.
Do I get a certificate?
Every completed course issues a certificate with a public verification link. It records which labs you completed, not just that you enrolled.
How long does a lab take?
Most course labs take 45 minutes to two hours. CineList is eight modules of 45–60 minutes. Playground sessions are 60 minutes and extendable.
Why yearly only?
Real cloud accounts and live servers cost us real money the moment you open them. A yearly plan keeps the price low and lets us cover every lab's cloud bill without metering you.
Is there a refund?
Yes — see the refund policy. If the labs aren't what we said they are, tell us within the window and we'll refund.
I'm at a partner college.
You don't pay. Sign in at your college's DeployU address and your semester's courses are already mapped.
How do you charge in India?
In rupees, via UPI, cards or net banking. GST invoice issued on payment.
Can I use DeployU on a college lab PC?
Yes. Everything runs in the browser — no installs, no admin rights needed. Chrome or Edge on any machine from the last five years is enough.
What if I get stuck?
Every lab has an AI tutor that knows your current step and gives hints, not answers; the solution unlocks after two verify attempts. Faculty at partner colleges can also see where you are stuck in the class monitor.
Is my work private?
Your labs, code and certificates belong to you. Certificates are public only through the verification link you choose to share. See the privacy policy for what we store.
